Our Mission

To orchestrate suicide prevention efforts by engaging agencies and people, and by identifying and addressing gaps with the goal of reducing suicide in Montezuma and Dolores County.

Our Vision

A community cultural change will bring light to the myth around suicide. All community members in SW CO will have access and easy connections to the resources they need to continue living life in a thriving, welcoming, and stigma-free community.

Workgroups

It takes a community to build a safety net of support for those at risk of suicide. We can’t do it alone. We need your help!

Data Workgroup
Description: To collect and evaluate data which will inform the suicide prevention coaltion in their action planning and to show the results of current efforts.

Behavioral Health Action Team/Education and Awareness Workgroup
Description: Working collaboratively with the Team UP Behavioral Health Action Team (BHAT) determine and implement messaging related to suicide prevention resources and trainings.

Postvention/Aftercare Workgroup
Description: To create and maintain the county level Postvention Plan so that the community and survivors of suicide loss or attempts are properly supported. Identify and address postvention/aftercare needs in the community.

Connectedness Workgroup
Description: To improve the fabric of connectedness within Montezuma County with a special focus on youth, older and aging, those in high risk industries, and service members, veterans and their families.
